About the vintage

Zweigelt

Bred by Fritz Zweigelt in 1922 by crossing Blue Frank and Saint Laurent; it is the most widespread blue grape variety in Austria (with about six thousand hectares), and is grown on 1,500 hectares in Hungary. It produces a wine with a characteristic light-medium body, with berry-fruit aromas, easily recognizable by its purple, cyclamen-like color.
