About the vintage

The weather was hot and extremely dry almost throughout, and when there was precipitation in the summer, it came in the form of ice, causing more damage than benefit. There was no shortage of body, extract, or ripeness, but wines with subdued acidity, less focused, and more diverse were produced in most of our regions.

Pinot blanc

Pinot Blanc (also known as Weissburgunder or White Burgundi) is a white wine grape variety that is a genetic mutation of Pinot Noir. It originally comes from Burgundy and is found in many wine regions worldwide. Characteristics: Grape clusters: Medium-sized leaves and densely packed clusters with thin-skinned berries. Flavor profile: Fresh, fruity flavor, with notes of green and yellow apples, sometimes with almond and smoky aromas. Maturation: Responds well to oak barrel aging, which adds additional complexity to the wine. Hungarian Cultivation In Hungary, the Pinot Blanc grape variety is mainly found in the Tolnai and Balatonboglár wine regions, with a total of approximately 240 hectares cultivated. Cultivation Characteristics: Soil and Climate: Prefers warmer soils, buds and ripens early. Soils with a high lime content have a beneficial effect on aroma development. Wines: In Hungary, Pinot Blanc wines are generally light, fresh and fruity, but more complex wines can be produced when aged in oak barrels. Pinot Blanc is a versatile and popular grape variety that can produce excellent wines, especially with the right growing and aging techniques.
